I spent my early career as an engineering librarian at several universities, I am now an associate dean at an ARL library. My only humanities background was in the late 1970s when I worked in the Rare Book Room at the New York Public Library, I had some great mentors there. I was in the Rare Book program at Columbia when they had a library school there. I am most interested in the dissemination of scientific and technical information and how STEM information is used. I am most interested in working with publishers to get their orphan works digitized. In the interim, I want to get a robust DH environment going on my campus. We need to leverage HathiTrust, especially its collections to start engaging faculty and graduate students in skills they will need to move their research into this new environment and remain competitive.
